Two-Step Process: All permanent makeup services require a two-step process and patience through the 10-day healing period. Please note that achieving optimal results may require a second session, as initial pigment retention may vary.
Initial Appearance: Immediately following your procedure the treated area will appear darker and more vibrant. This intensity can last up to two weeks as the pigment begins to settle.
Flaking and Shedding: Around days 4-5, the treatment area will begin to flake naturally, with some spots flaking more than others. Avoid picking at these flakes to allow them to shed naturally as you apply your aftercare ointment, preventing any risk of scarring.
Color Softening: As flaking subsides, the pigmentation may appear lighter or more subtle. Within 3-4 weeks, the color will stabilize and appear more vibrant and defined.
Itchiness and Sensitivity: It is common for brows or lips to feel mildly itchy during healing.
Individual Retention: Retention results can vary depending on skin type. For mature or oily skin, the results may be softer and less defined compared to younger or drier skin types.
Skin Products: Discontinue the use of any skin-thinning products, such as AHA, retinol, Vitamin A, glycolic acids, or exfoliants, on or near the treatment area in advance of your appointment.
Brow Preparations: If desired, schedule brow lamination or tinting one week before your appointment. Waxing or brow shaping (optional) should be completed at least two days prior.
Botox and Injectables: Schedule any cosmetic Botox or injectables at least three weeks before your permanent makeup appointment, or wait at least two weeks afterward.
Avoid Blood Thinners: Refrain from consuming blood-thinning substances—such as alcohol, caffeine, pain relievers (e.g., ibuprofen, aspirin), niacin, or fish oil supplements—48 hours before your appointment. These can increase bleeding and potentially affect your results.
Skin Conditions: Please note that we cannot tattoo over moles, blemishes, or sores in the treatment area; we will work around them as necessary.
Plan Around Menstrual Cycle: If possible, try to schedule your appointment outside of your menstrual cycle, as sensitivity and discomfort in the treatment area may increase during this time.
Pain and Comfort: Our permanent makeup services are designed to be as comfortable as possible. If you have concerns about discomfort, please inform your artist in advance so that additional numbing time can be arranged.
Brow Preferences: You’re welcome to wear your usual brow makeup to your appointment if you’d like to show your artist your preferred look. Your artist will also offer professional recommendations to create the best results.
Keep Your Brows Clean: Gently wash your brows using clean, washed hands and room temperature water. This should be done morning and night to prevent any buildup of dirt or oils in the treated area.
Moisturize Daily: If instructed to use an aftercare ointment, apply a rice sized amount to both brows after each wash morning and night for 7-10 days or until flaking is complete.
Avoid Touching or Picking: Refrain from touching, scratching, or picking at your brows during the healing process, as this may introduce bacteria or disrupt the pigment.
Limit Sun Exposure: Protect your brows from direct sunlight, as UV rays can fade the pigment. Wear a hat or stay in the shade when outdoors, especially in the first week post-treatment.
Skip the Gym: Avoid intense exercise, saunas, or steam rooms for at least 7-10 days, as sweat and excessive moisture can interfere with healing and pigment retention.
Steer Clear of Makeup: Avoid applying makeup directly to the brow area until the healing process is complete, as cosmetics can irritate or infect the treated area.
Be Patient: Healing times can vary, but most clients see full results within 4-6 weeks. Allow your brows the time they need to fully heal and reveal their final shape and color.
